Christmas Toy Guide 2009 - These Are the Toys Kids Are Begging For

The holidays are a magical time of year. Once you get through all the aggravating parts, like shopping and decorating and cooking for 60 people plus your Uncle Bert the diabetic with high blood pressure who can't eat carbs or salt.

To help you avoid some of the aggravation, we've put together a toy guide that lists a few of the most popular kids toys this season.

Leap Frog's My Pal Scout - Leap Frog has done it again. They've combined technology and simplicity and come up with an interactive toy your child will go crazy for. My Pal Scout is completely programmable, allowing for awesome customization. Your toddler will be engaged and delighted by this adorable soft puppy.

Munchkin Mozart Music Cube - The Music Cube by Munchkin is a unique toy in music education. The cube is soft with rounded corners making it easy for your toddler to hold. This award-winning interactive toy teaches your child how to put sounds together to create music. Learning has truly never sounded so good.fort builder kit

Ride & Learn Giraffe Bike - Another award-winning toy, this time from Vtech, the Ride & Learn Giraffe is one of the best I've seen in a long time. Your toddler learns their ABCs, animal names and counting all while peddling. The more your child peddles, the more he or she will learn. Isn't that a great concept?

Bakugan is a very popular game for boys 6-13 that combines skill with strategy. It uses colorful toys, not unlike transformer robots. Bakugan themselves are magnetic, spring-loaded marbles that -- when exposed to a metal "gate card" -- burst open to reveal a fearsome warrior. I am a grown woman and I must admit, even I want to play with these things. Definitely one of the most popular kids toys of the season.

Barbie's 3 Story Townhouse - It's big, it's pink, it's not the cheapest toy out there. But, if your daughter has been more nice than naughty this year, it would be worth it to see her face light up.

Zhu Zhu Hamster - At first I didn't get the appeal of this furry little thing that comes with its own exercise ball and hamster wheel. But, well, they kind of grow on you. Get one and you'll see what I'm talking about.
